Craig Rossie - nr Dunning Perthshire
As a golfer at Dunning Golf Course and with a hole named after Craig Rosie, I have always wanted to climb the hill to get a view of the course from the top. Set off today with my son Alex , thankfully getting parked at Pairney Farm.
Only enough room for a couple of cars (socially distanced).
Headed along the farm track and past the rear of the farm-sheds, through a dis-used quarry, and then immediately turned left and up a steep unmade path.
This is a steep climb. Keeping the fence on our left we made our way to gate at the end of the fence and climbed over, as it was padlocked.
The next stage was another steep climb to the top of the western (like a toboggan run in the snow)
From here we made our way east (short walk) to the Triangulation Pillar which offered spectacular views including the golf course at Dunning.
Overall a 2 hour round trip and well worth a visit.
