Morning Walk up Arthur's Seat

Sub 2000s: Arthur's Seat

Date walked: 13/12/2024

Over the previous few days I'd been on a bothy trip in the Cairngorms with a fellow MBA member and due to the chance of the snowgates at Braemar being closed I'd decided it would be wise to book a flight home a day later and get a hotel in Edinburgh for the night. Better to arrive late to a Travelodge than miss a flight.

Thankfully the snowgates had been open and we'd had an uneventful drive back to Auld Reekie, meaning I had some time for a visit to Arthur's Seat as well as wandering the streets looking for Ordnance Survey benchmarks (Edinburgh has hundreds of them!)

Ascended via the Piper's Walk from the South West, a rather cloudy walk up and slightly slippery conditions underfoot with not many people about early in the morning. Thankfully at some points the cloud cleared and I got some views. Descent was along the Dry Dam route North towards Holyrood.
