Glen Douglas duo
Grahams: Beinn Bhreac (Loch Lomond), Tullich Hill
Date walked: 11/02/2019
Time taken: 4.66 hours
Distance: 9.2km
Ascent: 880m
It was to be a good clear dry day so I opted to stay local again.
Parked up in the wee "hill car park" before the houses at the farm. Over the bridge and on a wee bit to the gate signed "tullich hill ".
Had the buffalo on today as it was cold.
After a few hundred metres slogging upwards it had to come off. Too warm. And upwards until the ridgeline with the crags on the left.
Clear day and knew Id get decent views all round from the summit and they didnt disappoint Great view of the cobbler ime and narnain all with a good dusting of snow on top. And on downwards through the crags. Theres a few grassy rakes through them. I stayed kinda right and went slowly down one. No probs really. Looking back up when I was down at An t-Streang , i could see it may pose a problem if the mist is down.
Thought about going straight up to Beinn Reoch but opted for going up a bit and contouring round.
Treated to 2 big raptor thingys soaring above. Looked too big to be buzzards, but I'm no expert.
On up to the trig and great views up and down loch lomond, the Crianlarich hills and across to Ben Lomond.
Passed a lad on the way down lugging a tripod up.
Hope you got the pics you were after pal.
Decided to go round and look for a way up Cruach an t-Sidhein for the future but met with all the usual MOD signs and high fences around all the bunkers.
Looks like I'll be going up and over Beinn a'Mhanaich again for this one - unless I find another way up.
Good couple of wee hills with good views.
Cheers
