Drive down and stayed in the fantastic hostel at borrowdale. Up early breakfast, and away and drove up and parked at mungrisdale, away over the wee bridge ,hang a left and up to the gate. Through this, hang a right and stayed on the wee path upto the ridge.
It was very windy and the wind chill affected my hands- freezing fingers.

Boggy walk to it and back over to bannerdale crags

The only reason I think Wainwright chose this point, was the view on the right to Skiddaw, left to Blencartha thus zoomed in view across to great Gable, Scafell Pike etc.
Can't think of any other reason.
Someone who has read his books could tell us

From here could see across to Bowscale fell and the ridge leading off it and down

The way ahead to todays last Wainwright

Quick stop at the windshelter and cairn for a look back to Blencartha and then head off on the descent

.
From here, a gradual descent, but then it got steeper as you descended into the gorse.
Steep path through it, and I can imagine it would be a bit tricky/ care required when wet.
Met an elderly lady here and her wee poodle who told me she was going up to do Suilven this week wuth a guide( her siblings were adamant she done it with a guide.)
She'd been up years ago herself - and if you read this , I hope you have a fantastic day and get the view .

We stop in here for a coffee at the end, fantastic Inn, great staff, walker friendly.

Great day; another one, in the Lake district.
