03:50am start from Edinburgh. Beautiful vivid sunrise (red in the morning) while driving up the M9 towards Stirling. Hardly any other vehicles on the road. parked at car park where the path through Lairig Gartain joins the A82 and walked alongside the A82 to the start of the walk at Altnafeadh. Nice breeze helped make the climb up to the bealach comfortable. On the summit of Stob Dearg in 2.5 hours. Stunning hazy views. Hard slog along the ridge to Stob na Broige rewarded with amazing views down Glen Etive. Steep and uncomfortable descent. - very hard on my knees and feet. Back to the car within 7.8 hours. A great day out.
