As I was on the bus from Edinburgh I started from the stop just down from Peebles High School. To save time as I was trying to time it with the bus that goes up the school road in the afternoon, I decided at the start to follow the road/track that is in part used for the return instead of going along the drovers road and up over the first smaller hills. This was quicker but gave a steeper ascent on a track that took me up to meet the drovers road again just before Birkscairn Hill, any time gained though was soon to be lost trudging through the snow so my plans for meeting that particular bus later was scuppered. From there It was the normal route over to Dunrig and then on to Glenrath heights. There had been people up there since the snow fall as there were tracks but it seems everybody had opted to miss out Stob Law as there were no tracks and instead carry on along the ridge to Huddleston Heights. This made the going over to Stop Law harder going as now I was the path maker through the fresh snow on what I think was the biggest descent and then reascent of the day. Once back on Broom Hill it was back on track over Huddleston and back down to the track on which I had started. I then had to walk back into the town centre for the bus home as I'd missed the bus I wanted to get on the school road
