Took advantage of being backup vehicle for daughter plus husband and dog last Wednesday (as they do another section of Cape Wrath trail) to head over in to Assynt, which is entirely new country for me. Grabbed the last space in the car park below Stac Pollaidh and did the circuit along with lots of others. Got to the saddle, but as a septuagenarian, chickened out of the last 15m scramble. Fantastic weather, views a little bit hazy, but a wonderful experience. Took about 2.5 hours, which I reckon is nae bad for someone my age who just happens to have two forms of cancer.
