Mount Toubkal in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco

Took a wee dauner up Mt Toubkal in the Atlas Mountains the other day - as you do.
Seriously though - a great trip with a guide, Hassan, a young geography student at Marrakech University. Also Zuheer the muleteer-cum-cook also a local man from the village of Imlil.
I don’t want to bore you with an essay on the subject but here are a few photos to give a flavour of it.....

- This wee dark alley led to my hotel or "Riad" where I slept the night I arrived in Marrakech.
- The courtyard of the Riad - calming and beautiful.
- Hot lunch on day 1 at this brilliant place
- Damn clever way to keep the coke cool - the hose is fed from a stream of snow melt.
- On the way up the valley - goodness knows what these animals graze on!
- Sheltered from a rain/ hail storm here. Yep - hail !!

- Saw this on the approach to the refuge - apparently we're not allowed to go scuba diving.

- Took this pic on the way down. On the way up was at 04:30am in the pitch dark with only 1 head torch between 2.
- Again - no-one told me I needed a bloody torch
