Great walk
Route: Allt Dubh and Alderwood trails, Creag Meagaidh NNR
Date walked: 25/05/2021
Time taken: 1 hour
Distance: 2.5km
This was a great little walk. Easy with one small ascent to viewpoint, varied views and lots of bird life en route.
The path, though short, took you through varied scenery from woodland with river nearby, to mountain view, and meadows.
Lots of opportunities for picnics with benches and tables in several spots, plus wcs en route.
The left hand path would be accessible for disabled access yet still give you the feeling of being in nature, despite being near to main road. Also great for children who might not want to walk far, but could get involved in spotting games.
My only negative might be that at peak times (esp weekends) it is such a versatile walk, that despite the large car park, it could get very busy. Also had the option to go much further and higher, if you are able to.
