Walk Definitely Open
Route: Loch Ryan Coastal Path: Stranraer to Glenapp
Date walked: 22/05/2019
Time taken: 4 hours
Distance: 19km
Ascent: 298m
The previous report, by my brother, citing problems due to construction of windfarm have been resolved.
I parked in Stranraer and took service bus to Glen App to start. The weather has been unusually dry of late and this made for easy going over the moor. There could have been one or two more marker posts along the high ground towards the gun emplacements but it didn't cause too many issues on a bright, sunny day.
Dropped down to sea level and the walk takes on an entirely different character. Excellent informative marker boards along the way really bring the areas history to life.
Fantastic walk which completed my missing link between Mull of Galloway and Skelmorlie.
