Stob Ghabhar and Stob áChoire Odhair in reverse!

Route: Stob Ghabhar and Stob a'Choire Odhair

Munros: Stob a' Choire Odhair, Stob Ghabhar

Date walked: 19/08/2021

Time taken: 5 hours

Distance: 16.14km

Ascent: 1200m

I was going to walk the route as described in the Walkhighland web site - but due to the wind direction I decided to do it in reverse. This proved a great (and I suspect easier) walk. The walk up to Stob Ghabhar beside the waterfall was reasonably steep but the beautiful pools and falls were great to see. Then the pull up the ridge was ok too. So the first Munro was over quite quickly 2hr 20 min. I really enjoyed the Aonach Eagach then the decent to the Bealach was ok - going downhill - but there was a lot of scree and I would think it would a bit of a nightmare ascending this! Conversely the walk up to Stob áChoire Odhair was on a path with long smooth rock parts so it was just what ‘second munro’ legs needed! Then the walk back to the track was very straightforward. So in summary I was glad to do the route in reverse - always good to break the rules (and get away with it) sometimes!
