Twas a fine clear chilly winter day for walking. Left cars at the wee strand of woodland E of Sherrifmuir and set off twards Blairdendon. First wee Glenty hill with thous of newly planted sickta then Mickle Corum which we sidestepped.
Then down and passed the wee sad crosses marking the site of the Spitfire crash of 1943.
The ground is firm but laced with lethal ice. Walk don't look-stop and look even more than usual. The summit of Blairdendon is a paltry affair. Two fences meet and on the other side there's half a dozen dockies looking sorry for themselves. We had a wee wander in case there was a higher bit.
Cleuch stood up to the SE. Offst we went down to the bog between. Twas easy enough striding across the frozen bits and the peat was frozen too. No paths but no need on a fine clear day.
Buck hill next. Could have slanted across to Cleuch but we're here, it's there so up we go. Easy slopes to another inconspicuous top in the shade of the turbines. No point hanging about, Cleuchs just over there! From Buck to Cleuch before you know it. Breezy on high but great 360 views . Two hours 40. Then back by the diagonal across the easy slopes to the bog and up and down and up and down twere dark came on.
A fine walk.
