A glorious day in the Glen. I parked at Benbuie planning to jog to the Byre for a nosey at the arch.
My legs were not eager participants in this idea; the beautiful sunshine of the last week combined with the buzz of spring emerging and longer daylight hours has encouraged me to extend bike rides and runs, resulting in tender hamstrings.
The complaining of the legs was soon forgotten as I headed up the trail, feet turning over in a steady rhythm and breath gradually settling to the pace.
Following a trail of little yellow flowers... Just a bit further... Just a bit further. After the cold of winter, feeling the sun on my skin and running in shorts and t-shirt is a sensory hit. I don't turn back at the Byre! I compromise with a trip up to Colt Hill, the arch at the top frames the stunning views. It's impossible not to smile! I feel soooooo lucky to be at this spot right now.
I squash the temptation to run to the other arches I spy, what if? What if? A day like this just inspires. I decide to save it, savour it, another day I know I'll be back to complete the loop.
