Landslide and ‘closed’ but being cleared and passable!
Route: Gardenstown and Crovie
Date walked: 31/03/2024
Distance: 4.5km
As ManicCollie noted in their report there was a landslide (well one main one and a few wee ones) that swamped the path but, despite the closed signage, the walk is perfectly do-able with care.
In fact a lovely chatty Gardenstown local was hard at work with a spade clearing a wee path on the edge of it. And she didn’t bat an eyelid at us being there…
Apparently - one of her local titbits - it happened in last year’s bad storms & perhaps caused by the drainage from the new path on the cliffs above! So there’s no great risk in normal weather…
