Glen Coe as always been my most favriote place in scotland, with the haunting atmosphere and the beauty and ruggedness of the glen it has become my Mecca. After doing Aonoch Eagach 2 weeks ago, I had to come back, this time I had my best mate Iain with me, and the chosen mountain was Etive Mor.

Departure time was 7am from Paisley, by 8 we were in Tyndrum, straight into the Green Welly cafe for breakfast. Nearly died when I was charged £2.65 for a roll n sausage and i thought the muggers were all in Paisley . after I was brought round after that mugging it wasnt long before we reached the Glen, and was met with the awsome sight of Etive Mor. We stopped to take a couple of photos by the road side, it looked amazing as usual but the clouds were covering the top, and I thought that this was going to be one of those days not going to see a thing from the top. We parked at the carpark at the start of the Devils Staircase, got our kit together and some hot soup and we were off.

The assent was steep but the path was really good and not long into it we were stripped down to t shirts, half way up my mate Iain had discovered he had lost his cap which had centimental value, so he headed back to see if he could see it, i waited for about 10 mins, but was starting to get cold so i started to move on to heat up again, kept a slow pace so that Iain could catch up, as he did towards the top but he was absolutly gubbed and well done to him but he never found his cap . loved going up thr front of there path is really rocky but the path is clear enough to follow and a great wee scramble to the bealach . The view was out was tremendous but there was still a lot of cloud about and the first munro Stob Dearg was still in the clouds, After a 15 min walk up the rocky path we reached the summit of Stob Dearg, we had a tiny break in the clouds and the wiew over Aonach Mor was breathtaking, and made the most of it with some stunning photos, then the most amazing thing happened the clouds started to disapear and the amount of Broken Specters we got was out of this world (the photos are amazing) we were making them dance which was funny as hell. The clouds stayed away for the rest of the day.

We headed back down to the bealach and it was a easy walk to the next peak Feadan Ban, where we took some great photos of the Glen and other near by munros, the next peak Stob Na Doire, looked steep and it was a real calf burner and the path up was great, on the way down from that peak that amazing some really great scrambles.

The last push was for the second munro Stob Na Boirge a short walk along the ridge and was a plesent little asent to it for some wee deserved rolls n beef coffee and chocolate, to our amazement th clouds lifted even more, could even see a full view of Nevis and sorounding mountains which topped off an amazing day.

The part i was dreading was the decent, i was thinking here we go, sore thighs for a couple of days, but how wrong was i it was great with a coulpe of great wee scrambles and a good path down, before we knew it we were on the path at Laing Gartain watching deer graze on the side of the mountain, walking back to the carpark, which i thought was the most dangerous part of the walk along that A82.
