Logging started and some changes

Route: Black Wood and Dùn da-Lamh fort

Date walked: 24/06/2021

Time taken: 3 hours

Distance: 8.5km

If coming from Laggan on the A86 there is no car park sign visible; you'll see it in your rear view mirror as you go past! Good signage if going to Laggan.
The first part of Stage 1 is very overgrown, but passable.
They were starting logging today, which will cover the whole of stage 2 - we were probably the last people to see it clothed in trees for a few years.
On the way back at Stage 7 the forrest roads have changed a bit. Picnic table gone - just follow the track on the route map and you'll be fine. Blue way marker at start of stage 8 is still there.
Stage 8 - ruins path, no access - this is the bottom of the logged area.
The ridge walk (Stage 3, 4 and 5) is great, and the view in all directions impressive. The descent from the ridge (Stage 5) is very steep and muddy and needs to be taken slowly. The fort is very impressive.
