Mayar and Dreish from Glenprosen

Date walked: 31/08/2011

Time taken: 7 hours

Distance: 18km

Staying at Glenprosen hostel for a few days and decided to combine the walk to Mayar and Dreish with a series of Geocaches mainly on the Kilbo path, these would be my first Munroes for a few years and as I am 71 maybe my last

Eventually reached the summit of Mayar and dropped back down to the col to climb up to Dreish, unfortunately I hadn't read previous reports or looked at pictures of summit and it was only when I returned home that I discovered that the summit was a trig point surrounded by a rocky shelter, mines was a cairn, dropped down south and headed back to Glenprosen congratulating myself on acheiving two Munroes

Will have to go back to claim Dreish but will ascend via Corrie Fee next time

Nevertheless a great day in the hills with views to die for (not yet I hope)
