A wide coast to coast
Date walked: 31/05/2011
This started as an idea to complement the south/north walk of last year and the most westerly point of wales to most easterly point of england seemed logical start/finnish points, so the route was roughly planned to join them. The idea of a cross section of this island from rocky coast over some mountainous terrain through to near flat land and coast appealed and it worked out to be everthing and more than expected. The hike ended up measuring 440.6 miles over four weeks with some rest days. Much of the beauty of such a walk is the unexpected features passed along the way including a stature of captain mannering. Daily report on my blog.
