Winter in Glen Spean. Snow and blue skies
Route: Beinn a' Chaorainn & Beinn Teallach
Munros: Beinn a' Chaorainn (Glen Spean), Beinn Teallach
Date walked: 20/11/2016
Time taken: 7 hours
After a night in the bunk house at Roy Bridge we were starting the walk at 8am parking at Roughburn. It was pretty cloudy and dull but as we came out of the forestry at the start and headed up the hill we were soon above the clag and blue skies and clear views started to emerge as the sun came up.
As we headed anti clockwise we were able to follow some tracks that had been made in the snow which helped as we climbed. The views were breathtaking! (Unusual for us ).
The walk to the first Munro of the day was done in fantastic clear skies and some great cloud inversion. As we reached ten summit a couple of guys appeared from the scrambling route up the ridge.
As we headed to the second Munro of the day I can honestly say my legs were tired. No tracks to follow so thumping a track and hard going. As we reached the top the views continued. We headed down and back to the car after a tiring but absolutely fantastic day in the Scottish mountain and some great photos.
