A Lovely Easy Walk to an amazing place.
Route: Camas Tuath, near Bunessan
Date walked: 19/05/2024
Time taken: 2 hours
Distance: 3.75km
There is a gate with Camas Tuath written on it. The track starts off fairly good and leads you through fields of sheep. Go through the next gate and keep following the track. Each side of the tract are drainage ditches and old wooden planks on the track assist walking in wet weather. Before the track turns to the right and heads up the slope you will encounter some muddy areas but nothing too bad although we walked on a beautiful sunny day so it wasn’t too muddy. As you reach the top of the incline you will find a lovely stone wall that runs along the final stretch of the path to Camas Tuath.
You will find a sign on the left pointing to Market Bay which we didn’t do but must add extra joy to this great walk. As you walk down the track after the sign you will find a large gate with a sign stating ‘Welcome to Camas, walkers Welcome’. Go through the gate and you will see some houses at the bottom of the slope. Carry on through the next gate and you will be at the Camas Centre. This as an amazing place that is located overlooking a lovely inlet that had a pink stone quarry many years ago.
After having a good look around, retrace your steps back to the car park and you will have completed a great easy walk.
