Just a brief note to say that we encountered a frequent walker of the area who knew the hill ONLY as Deer Hill and was unable to associate any other name with it.
Further, upon our gradual ascent we found that the adjacent smaller hill to the east ("Torr Mor" on OS maps) has been completely denuded of trees. Eventually you get high enough to see over the eye sore to get a nice view of Arran.
