Ben Macdui via Carn a'Mhaim
Route: Càrn a'Mhaim from the Linn of Dee
Munros: Ben Macdui, Càrn a' Mhàim

Fantastic walk up and over Carn a'Mhaim to ascend Ben Macdui and then descend towards Hutchinson Memorial Bothy and through Glen Derry. Luckily rain abated after first hour...fairly windy on both tops, as expected but worthwhile for the views and sheer exhilaration...especially walking along Carn a'Mhaim's ridge. Lovely to see the snow buntings skipping about. Similarly the wee gatherings of phtarmigans and grouse. Highlight however was a oh so brief glimpse of male and female capercallie. Next walking trip?? ...possibly an overnight around Ben Avon....any tips or hints gratefully accepted.
