Storm Arwen (Dec 2021) brought down many trees in the plantation on the Duns Castle Estate. The route from the Hen Poo bird hide up through Dun Wood quickly becomes blocked by fallen mature conifers. It could be a long time before these will be cleared. A local lady we talked to said she had tried and failed several times to find any route through. Signage at the estate entrance suggests all routes through the wood are impassable.
