A Falls Guy's Roam around Rogie

Route: Rogie Falls circuit, near Contin

Date walked: 24/03/2023

I like waterfalls, especially after a deluge, but despite many times driving past Rogie falls car park I'd never stopped to look.

A few weeks back I had to go to Raigmore Hospital for 30 minutes to suck and blow on a machine that tells me how my lungs are functioning so what better excuse to spend a week in Strathpeffer and explore a bit of the east side.
It was damp and drizzly as I headed down the well made path to the blue marked post for the Falls Circuit. First decision to make, go left and then have the long haul back up the path in front of me or down the steep path to the falls. Down hill to the falls first won as I didn't fancy the grind back up that slope and hoped the circuit back was the less steep way. An idiopathic lung condition leaves one feeling like a pathetic idiot when faced with anything that resembles a modest incline.

There definitely was some water coming down the river by the sound of it and arriving at the wobbly bridge the camera came out of its case but I had to wait until the bridge stopped moving.
Taking a photo handheld on a slow shutter speed is not meant to be a moving experience even if the view is.

Too good not to take a few more,

Well worth the effort and a bit of heavy breathing on a damp day with few people around to spoil the views.
