Cnoc an t-Sabhail (sub2000) Trigpoint walk
Sub 2000s: Cnoc an t-Sabhail (East)
Date walked: 05/01/2006
Time taken: 3 hours
Distance: 6.5km
Ascent: 321m
A map was definitely needed for this one. Not so much for finding the Trig point but for navigating through the forestry. There were a lot of felled trees (please note this report is based on my walking back in 2006 probably a lot less trees now) Even with both map and GPS this was difficult. Once the forestry was cleared I then was subject to heavy marshland which is not easy to cross.. ice or no ice, There is a slight ascent from 201 metres (where i started from at viewfield road) and the top is 321 meters. So 120 meters up which was all worth it reaching the trig finally. Decent views all round including Golspie, Dornoch Firth, Nig and Struie hill.
