Left Perth at 7.30 for an easy drive up to find a few cars already parked up.

Followed the instructions carefully crossing the bridges and the fence to follow the river on what would have been a very muddy path but it was frozen and slippy in places.

Went through a big gap in the fence then on up to the style, which is broken so carefully does it over the fence.

Veered up the next river and crossed it just before the 500M contour mark. After this the path wasn't so obvious and kept disappearing under patches of snow. Eventually picked it up again and slogged up the steeper part. No need for the ironmongery though, the snow was firm but confined to the higher, less steep parts.

This was the most glorious of days, with hardly any wind until we got to the cairn. Sat for about 15 mins scoffing our piece before getting on some more layers and heading off from whenst we came.

Easy plod back and did it all in 4.5 hours including stops and lunch. A splendidly easy first one of the year rounded off with a cuppa and a cake at the Laggan cafe. Even bought some of their gin after the very hospitable host gave us a wee nip to taste.
