Torrs Warren, Dunragit
Route: Torrs Warren, near Dunragit
Date walked: 13/01/2018
Time taken: 1 hour
Distance: 6.25km
The track route is a good enough walk, but by far the best walks are to be enjoyed by leaving the track as soon as possible and following the many well trodden paths that lead through these stunning woods. Dogs will have a great time being allowed to roam freely and safety. The car park could be improved by extension, as this is often full during the afternoons, especially at weekends. Slightly blighted by a strange assortment of coloured plastic rubbish that has been randomly tied to the trees. Forestry Commission or perhaps regular users should address this issue, especially if encouraging our younger generation to respect the environment! Plastic also represents a danger to wildlife. Recent felling has resulted in needless damage where paths often become badly flooded and impassable. This said, Torrs Warren boasts a fabulous set of walks in an extremely peaceful setting. Pick your favourite routes and enjoy!
