Lockdown tour of Inverness - including some munros!

Date walked: 01/05/2020

I've compiled a few photos of Inverness from a route I've done a few times in this brave new world we now live in. Mostly cycled it recently, but I have walked it all, in part over the years. The pictures are from different days and times over the last few weeks

I live near the prison, and I guess I know how they feel in there now.

I then passed under the Ness Rail Bridge which replaced the viaduct that collapsed in the floods of 1989 not long after a train went over it. The new bridge was open the next year.

I followed the coast from here to the Caley Canal.

Another munro in the centre of the picture - I think its Sgurr na Lapaich at 1150m elevation

A lot of people think the wreck of the titanic is in the atlantic ocean but its actually next to the canal in Inverness

Its a few miles from here up to the UHI college campus on the east side of town. Its an area worth a visit with several munros on show, nesting swans & the Golden Gate Bridge.

From here it's a short cycle home for me or about half an hour walk. So that's it, a limited photo tour of Inverness. :D
