Ben Vane
Route: Ben Vane, from Inveruglas
Munros: Ben Vane
Date walked: 05/06/2010
Time taken: 5 hours
Distance: 11km
Ascent: 930m
From Inveruglas. Hot and humid and felt steep.
So much for no scrambling, the path crosses a rock band towards the top. No obvious easy way around and the path splits going over this band. Left fork leads to a tricky move (about 3b/c) despite obviously being climbed (ignorance is bliss?) so head right for a much simpler and safer option. Path itself is very eroded and was unpleasant descending in the dry.
Midged for the first time this year. But weirdly on the summit only
