Creag Mhor only by bike
Route: Creag Mhòr and Beinn Heasgarnich

This report is just to add to the report by dan_miriam which we used as a guide, it was very useful.
We drove to Kenknock and ignored all the signs about "private road" and "no unathorised vehicles beyond this point" and turned right through the unlocked gate up some hairpin bends to the upper track and parked just before the bridge over the Innisraineach Burn (space for 3/4 cars). The road was in a state of disrepair so care was neaded and possibly a vehicle with high clearance.
We cycled along the track passing through 6 deer gates with kissing gates. It was possible to get your bike through some of the kissing gates. Care needed in places along this track as it had been repaired with largish rocks which could cause problems for the unwary.
We stopped at the 7th deer gate and padlocked our bikes to the fence. We met a hydro worker here and he was not bothered by us parking our car where we did. We went throught the gate and followed the right side of the fence to a gate in the upper fence where you can get onto the open hill side.
The hillside was covered in a spectacular array of wild flower, looking at them slowed us down somewhat.
We passed the first crags on the right and higher crags on the left. There was no obvious path and care is needed as the hydro worker told us there had been several falls on the hill. Some grass scrambling needed to get up the steeper bits around the crags. We found it hard going (first hill of the season).
Once on the ridge we picked up the path to the summit, easy from there.
Returning by the path we decided to decend via the grassy NE spur of Sron Nan Eun rather than pick our way down the steep crags. This proved much easier. We headed E diagonally towards the Allt Batavaim and followed it down to a bolted deer gate which was easy to climb over.
On the other side of the gate there was an ATV track and we followed this down to the hydro track only about 400yds from gate 7. The ATV track was a bit feignt in places but easy enough to follow. This ATV track would be a good ascent route to avoid the crags. The start is not too obvious from the hydro track but it is between two culverts and just after the bridge over the river in the valley below.
