I drove up to Ballater on the Thursday and checked into the hostel there.
Went out for dinner and a pint to a nice wee pub just along the street.
Chilled out for a bit in bed before lights out at 10.30 ready for the next days adventure.

My room in the very nice Ballater Hostel

Left the car park and had a quick check of the watch to see it was 8.15am ,
a bit later than i was hoping and knowing it was gonna be a long day ahead but off i marched into the bitterly cold wind

Walking through the forest and following a snow covered track i got to this cairn which is where you leave the track to then aim for Meickle Pap in the background

Got a very small break in the cloud to grab this photo of the far side of the corrie as i climbed .
This would be my last for a while as it was a bitterly cold , strong wind now on the rim of the corrie.
I had to stop here and try and get all my extra layers on in a howling wind before i moved on higher up to the summit of Lochnagar , my 1st munro off the day.

The summit of Lochnagar just ahead. No summit shots as it was just far too cold and windy at this point.

From here i headed back along the same way i'd just came to the 1st false summit cairn then dropped south-west always keeping another corrie to my right hand side before the ascent to my 2nd munro Carn a' Choire Bhoidheach. Not the greatest of munros i must say especially in this wind but at least it was now getting a little brighter

Carn a' Choire Bhoidheach , number 2 of today

The top of the 3rd munro Carn an t-Sagairt Mor which has the 2 cairns on it to visit. Still really cold but i was now getting the views and i could make out some hills all around me now. I was really starting to enjoy my day now as i could see my final 2 munros ahead and i was getting more confident i wouldn't finish in the dark after a bit of a late start.

Summit shot from Cairn Bannoch with munro no: 5 in the distance.
Doesn't look to far away now.

Just to make my way up through the boulders to the summit of Broad Cairn

So close now.

Summit shot looking towards Loch Muick and the way back to the finishing point at the far end of the loch. Still a long way to go.

Yeeeeehaaa , here i was at my 200th munro and my 5th and last of the day.
Now time for a well deserved cup of tea and a wee cake to celebrate.
That tea was so nice as i'd had to ration it on the way round due to my Camelbak water tube that comes out my rucksack freezing even before the 1st summit , and not being able to drink any of my diluting juice. I was really thirsty at this point as it had been a few hours on the go now without a proper drink.

YEEEHAAAA , 12 years in the making and now at my 200th munro :D :D :D :D

For my walkout i decided to stick to the high path at the right of the photo above the snowline at the top of the slopes down to Loch Muick

Looking back towards from where i'd come from. The bright skies now being replaced by grey murky cloud.

Loads of deer to pass before the last wee stretch back to the car park , finishing just before darkness set in.
An enjoyable day out on the hills.
A very cold start ,the day getting better as i worked my way around the route.
Here's to the next 82
