Conic Hill
Date walked: 21/08/2021
Time taken: 2.45 hours
Went up to Balmaha with my faithful companion Zak today. He is a Northern Inuit breed, think very large Alsation for size purposes, 50kg+ (he asked that I keep his exact weight private) . Usually I will only do forest walks etc when Zak is with me but after a change in my life I have decided to go hill walking again. Not a bad start to the day weather wise with just some light drizzle, got to the car park about 10.30 and set off. Going up it is a very nice walk, not to strenuous but enough to get the heart working, and Zak loved all the attention he gets from other walkers. Didn't realize there were some steep steps on the walk, but going up was no problem. Coming down was a different matter, if your dog is large they are a nightmare, luckily Zak where's a harness with a handle on top which means I have total control over him, would not like to try with just a leash. We both loved the walk, but just thought I would post this for those with larger dogs, I myself didn't think of it until coming back down about the steps. In future will do a bit of recon before Zak comes
