A stunning day on Beinn an Lochain
Route: Beinn an Lochain
Corbetts: Beinn an Lochain
Date walked: 06/04/2014
Time taken: 4 hours
Distance: 5.5km
Ascent: 720m
Thought it was about time I posted my first walk report. Early in April, myself and two friends decided to take the drive up to Arrochar to take advantage to the (somewhat) clear weather we were having that weekend. Although we did end up getting caught in a few little downpours, the walk was fantastic with stunning views all day.
Beinn an Lochain is now firmly rooted as one of my favorite climbs so far.
The final gear check/fag before setting off
A very wet and muddy start
Views looking over to Gen Croe (I think)
Looking down to Loch Restil
Glen Kinglas in the distance
The summit looked rather daunting from this angle
Weather heading in
"It's only a little rain"
Time for the steep bit
Not quite as bad as it looked
Good footing despite the wet grass
Looking down to Loch Restil
Stunning views
He had wanted a photo on this spot for a while
More rain heading in
It's always amazing to see just how quickly the cloud can roll in....
....and then back out.
Time for a quick bite to eat
and to appreciate the stunning scenery
Before the final push
Just in time, as the clouds roll in once again
