A Nice Day out on 3 Great Corbetts
Corbetts: Beinn a' Chaisteil (Strath Vaich), Càrn Bàn , Càrn Chuinneag
Date walked: 04/07/2023
Time taken: 9 hours
Distance: 53km
Ascent: 2042m
An early start from Perth leaving at 4 am and getting to the start point for carn chuinneag at around 730 am
from the car park at the end of a single track road head down to Glen calvie lodge past a lovely tree house then round a corner past two lion topped gate posts and head for Glen calvie
once in Glen calvie its an easy walk for a an hour till you reach a track that climbs up - zig zagging up and then cuts round the mountain until you reach the summit of Carn Chuinneag with the trig point - i then headed over the summit which is 829 metres then headed for Beinn a chaisteill which took me over a summit called Creag ruadh and Creag Dhubh beag and then a long pull up on to Beinn a chaisteil - The walk over took in a lot of Negotiating of peat hags and bog but luckily it had been fairly dry. Once On the Summit of Beinn a Chaisteil i headed back about half a mile to a small lochan just west of the summit and then followed a burn down to a small track and then on to a the mian tack which then went round a corner and over a bridge to then start the ascent of Carn ban which took me up a track then it was negotiating more bogs and peat hags and then on to the summit of Carn ban - i headed down a slightly different way which went over 814 spot heigh and then 823 to then down to a burn at alltan leacach to the path and then took a single track back along for about a mile to a weir and bridge to then pick up the main track out to alladale lodge then to Glencalvie- i narrived back at the car for around 5pm ish - a great walk and a great and easy way to bag 3 corebtts

- Ideal day out: I have no preference I enjoy a good ridge scramble. I enjoy a cycle in to the hills and then a walk. I most enjoy ticking off as many munro's on a day as possible
