a rewarding climb!

Route: Meall Fuar-mhonaidh, near Drumnadrochit

Fionas: Meall Fuar-mhonaidh

Date walked: 27/07/2021

Time taken: 3 hours

Distance: 9km

we began this walk at around 11am, hoping get the best of the weather before the forecast of rain for the afternoon!

everything is exactly as described in the main page for the walk - generally easy paths to follow, and signposting at the beginning which was helpful.

the walk starts off through pretty woodland, where you can catch a glimpse of the climb ahead - though don’t let it put you off! the path starts to ascend and the woodland thins out to a field of heather.

there is an impressively large stile to climb over :D
before the track becomes more repetitive, working all the way up to the peak!

we were extremely lucky with the weather and it was dry throughout our walk (allowing for lunch at the top), but it was easy to see how boggy the ground would become in the rain, so don’t skip out on wellies!

overall a really nice walk :) we stopped by the pottery shop and bought a drink before heading home.
