49....HOPEfully 50!! Not bad for a kid!
Route: Ben Hope
Munros: Ben Hope, Ben Klibreck
Date walked: 04/08/2011
Day one - got rid of brother and sister - time to bag munros they haven't!!
First Ben Klibreck, the second most northerly.
The path was good at first then it went through a boggy patch. There were loads of dragon flies.
The next part was steep.
There were good views of Ben Hope and Ben Loyal.
The last bit to the summit was steep and a bit rocky, but not hard with clear path. It had got quite windy now and the cloud was back on the top again.
49 Munros!
Day two. We set off for Ben Hope and the weather was wild - very windy and wet. We thought we'd drive down and HOPE we could do it!
When we got there the weather had improved and so ......
The ascent was steep but the path was clear and was only wet and boggy in places.
This part of the route takes you up to the main ridge path.
It was steep all the way to the top but not as hard as the path was easier going.
After a long while .......
We ate our lunch but it was SO COLD
The walk down felt steeper but much easier. By the time we got back the sun was very bright and the summit was visible and cloud free!
These were two good hills and I liked getting to 50. Time for a Cadbury's Wispa to celebrate!
