The path south of Gelder Shiel has been washed away by the burn in several places and makes the route difficult and potentially dangerous. It took me over an hour to rejoin the estate road, both shins bleeding, and mildly annoyed. If you do not plan to use the bothy at Gelder Shiel it would be advisable to stick to the estate road up to the start of Conachcraig ascent, great wee hill that it is.
