Carn gorm & the "easy" flank
Munros: Càrn Gorm
Date walked: 01/12/2013
Time taken: 5.5 hours
Distance: 10km
Ascent: 888m
I'd like to quote the WH description of the walk.
What a load of ********. There is not one bit of this walk that is "easy". I nearly died on numerous occasions due to burning thighs
We had the most amazing moment on the ascent. The wind dropped and there was not a noise at all. Literally, it was that quiet all i could hear was ringing in my ears, fantastic experience and a very rare occurrence these days.
There was a little bit of icy snow so finally got to try out my new crampons. Must say I love them! (Grivel air tech)
We ended up stopping at the Burn on the way up and back. Both times I took full advantage of the cold water dipping my boots in and lettingit cool my feet, what an amazing feeling, would highly recommend it to anyone who doesn't want to take their boots off.
on with the pictures, in no particular order
For some reason this has ended up upside down? Don't know why!
Got stuck in traffic on the A9 on the way home. Looked like it was a head on two car crash, hope no one is badly injured but it didn't look good
some eedjit who thinks it's easy wrote:The route now bears West across moorland to follow the easy flank up Carn Gorm.
