Loch Mullardoch Round, first day.

Route: The Loch Mullardoch Munros

Munros: An Riabhachan, An Socach (Mullardoch), Càrn nan Gobhar (Loch Mullardoch), Sgùrr na Lapaich

Date walked: 06/06/2010

Time taken: 9 hours

Distance: 29km

I have nothing to add to the previous excellent reports except to say it is indeed an outstanding walk. Once on the mountain ridge the going is easy so the distances are quickly covered. We met a number of people who had used the boat to avoid the walk along the loch side, and I have no doubt this made for a much easier day, but one which still reached into remote hills with a real wilderness feel.
The ridge is very exposed and must be a struggle in adverse conditions when the distance will be keenly felt.
There is some doubt about the future availability of the boat as the man who has provided this service for many years is to retire soon.It would be useful if someone could post an update on this situation as this boat makes a big difference to day walks in this area.
