The Mamores Ridge
Munros: Am Bodach, An Gearanach, Binnein Mòr, Mullach nan Coirean, Na Gruagaichean, Sgùrr a' Mhàim, Stob Bàn (Mamores), Stob Coire a' Chàirn
Date walked: 05/09/2015
Time taken: 15.25 hours
Distance: 37.6km
Ascent: 3277m
Completed by. Dave, Julie, Wilson and Jake.
Date. Sat 5th sept 2015
Weather. Supreme conditions
Time. 15.25hrs
Distance 37.6km
Ascent. 3277m
Hills completed
Binnein Mor, Na Graugaichean, Stob Coire a Chairn, An Gearanach, Am Bodach, Sgurr a Maim, Stob Ban and Mullach nan Coirean.
We were last on this ridge several years ago. On that day, Julie had a nasty fall on Binnein Mor in winter conditions, and was lucky to escape with a few fractures.
We returned to the scene of that accident, the NNE ridge of Binnein Mor, this was to be our entry on to the main ridge and the 8 Munros beyond. And for Wilson the Beardie our 1st Munro of the day (Binnein Mor) would be his 200th. Great scrambling on this ridge to the summit, made all the better by the fantastic weather we would get all day.
Our biggest ascent day ever in the hills was made so much easier by the unexpected weather (MWIS) once again was way of the mark.
