MAYAR & DREISH

Route: Mayar and Driesh, Glen Clova

Munros: Driesh, Mayar

Date walked: 04/09/2010

Time taken: 4 hours

Distance: 14km

Well I headed off up mayar and dreish yesterday, up kilbo path and through corrie fee. well along the side of corrie fee. Took instruction and map from the centre at the park as i am far from a seasoned walker. Went wrong near the start some where as ended up scrambling through thick forest nearly on my hands and knees but heh ho the dogs thought it was great fun. Once I was out of the forest it was all good though and fairly easy going.
It was very misty and couldn't see top of dreish but carried on in the hope that it would clear, no such luck. Did the top of mayar first and it nearly cleared a couple of times but no joy. Heded off to dreish and it just got worse felt like i was walking blind and questioned whether I should just turn back but I'm too stubborn for that. Found the trig point walked round it and headed straight back down. Dogs kept dissapearing into the mist chasing after the infamous hairy haggis! Walk down was good and got some lovely views.
All in all had a fantastic day and felt quite pleased with myself that i completed walk in the suggested 4.5 hours. Will just have to go back on a clear day and this time won't get lost in the woods lol
