Kaixo everyone!!!
Here we are, trying to write a few words about the other day when we went up Stob Ghabhar & Stob a'Choire Odhair (I hope it is easier than guessing how to say the name of the munros ).
The forecast said it was going to be a dry day, so we decided to go up there to have a relaxing day.
As soon as we reached the car park and we left the car, there they were, the £$$£^%^$^$$"£$£ midges waiting for us (for me I would say), waiting for their breakfast. So, the relaxing day started with me running to put the insect repellent on.
Once we avoided the uninvited guests, we started walking looking for the diversion on the left, for the "Loch etive" signpost camouflged by shrubbery.
After a few metres we could start ejoying the views of the river surrounded by the mountains, which took us to the green hut, where we turned right to head to the munros following the clear path. We didn't find the zig-zag path until we had walked half of the first slope.
2 hours after we left the carpark we reached the summit.
With such a nice morning and clear visibility, we took our time to take a couple of pics, have a sandwich, drink irn-bru, enjoy the scenary and have a look at Stob a'Choire Odhair and the walk still to do.
We left Stob Ghabhar hoping we were going to have the same nice views in Stob a'Choire Odhair as we had from the previous one.
It took us 1 hour and 50 minutes to reach the second summit of the day: down Stob Ghabhar and up quite a steep slope to reach the narrow ridge.
A look backwards .....
...... an extra wee effort .....
..... and time to relax again, eat, drink, take a couple of pics and enjoy the scenary and the silence (till this point we hadn't seen anyone else -we only saw a guy on the way down from Stob a'Choire Odhair-).
We thought we had already seen everything, but on the way down we found some other nice things, such as this waterfall.
Deer appeared but they decided to play hide and seek. It took us a while, but we were patient enough to wait until we could take a photograph.
To finish that nice day, nothing better than a quick look at the river.
We realised that it is easier to find and read the sign for the carpark when you are coming back to the carpark ...... on foot .
We spent 2 hours on the way back to the carpark.
Time to go back home ...... stopping at the Drovers inn looking for a cold bottle of beer .
Once we are back home we always try to explain what we have seen .................. mmmmmmmmmm ........ which is quite difficult to explain in words. You show the photos ........ but it still isn't the same ............. so we decided to do a couple of videos. It is still not the same as what we experienced up there, but it is better to help others understand why we like going up the hills whenever we can and the weather gives us a chance. We hope you like them (first one from Stob Ghabhar and the second one from Stob a'Choire Odhair):
PS: I didn't know that it takes ages to upload a video , I hope it is worth it .
