At last Cul Mor

Route: Cùl Mòr

Corbetts: Cùl Mòr

Date walked: 02/08/2017

Time taken: 5.5 hours

So I was going to do Cul Mor at last.
I had arranged with my Daughter to meet in the Kitchen a 07.30 an easy mistake. Forgot to explain there are two 7.30 in a day. So had to go and wake her. The plan was the wife would drop us off and pick us up latter. We got our stuff together and off we went. I had also bought a new pair of boots after my old one let in going up Conival.

Had not gone over the top price wise so lets see how they get on.

Off she goes let see how she gets on

The first part of the path is really easy to follow. There are 1 or 2 small boggy bits but all in all its really good. At points you can see it for hundreds of yard in front (Yes Yards am old).
So any way on we went the views where already better than Conival. The path soon started to turn to stone as we went up. Along with this there was the first moans of discontent from the Daughter " this is harder than the last one"
I kept promising a break at the next cairn. But then forgot. There are lots of cairns on this bit marking the way. I wanted to get to the top of Meallan Diomhain and show the daughter the loss in height was not that great.

One of the many Cairns

As we sat and had a hot drink we could see cairns and the path heading off to the right. So all rested we carried on. After the drop in height it wasnt as bad as some one had told her LOL.
The views where getting better all the time. We where soon at the rock band. Told her to just take here time there was no rush. Again dont think this was that bad. The daughter did not want to talk as she was looking where she was going. But she got there in the end then a short walk and we where on the top her leading the last few yards.

The Top

I have lived not far from Cul Mor for 5 yrs and this was the first time I had been to the top.
We grabbed a few pics. Had a look over at Suilven. One day we would do that. We then headed towards Creag Nan Calman. This was really easy and the path was good. Coming down we follow the path we had just taken and then down the valley between the 2 summits. I will say at this point I think this was the hardest bit of the walk as we could not see any clear path.

Well the Daughter goes home in a few days. So now I have a new pair of boots will have to find another Victim (partner) to come with me. Funny how the wife and the our little dog have gone very quite LOL
