I was on Harris for the LAMM (Lowe Alpine Mountain Marathon) and had been up to the summit of Clisham (2nd checkpoint on day 1 of the B course) by a slightly different route a few days earlier, so had planned a different hill for this day. However, that morning we could see from our camp at Luskentyre the cloud spilling over the hills from the north, and as we got closer it seemed to be increasing. Decision was made on the road up from Tarbert that we should aim directly for the highest point on Harris to try and escape the clouds. This turned out to be a very wise choice as you’ll see below.






While at the summit being mesmerised by the view and clouds spilling over surrounding hills I set up my phone to take a time lapse.


Harris is stunning, but when you get conditions like that even more so. Looking forward to going back!
