Sandaig walking

Route: Sandaig (Camusfearna)

Date walked: 25/01/2010

Time taken: 1 hour

Distance: 4km

This was a nice walk, which took just over an hour to complete, not including the time we spent on the beach taking lots of photos. The view is beautiful once you are on the shore line, but you walk down amongst trees so don't see much till you are on the shore, except for a one lovely view point, close to the beach. We decided to cross the stream (not via the rope bridge) which took some doing with all the water that was flowing and the very slippery rocks. So glad there was no one around to see me making a fool of myself as i tried to avoid getting my feet wet. The walk back was much more steep than we had expected, but ok, although did have to stop a few times to catch our breathe. The drive to and from the walk was also fab, lots of deer at the side of the road, and a fabulous view of a buzzard flying below us, a very unusual view to have. Took us a couple of hours to get there so would be looking for something longer to do next time, but it was worth the effort.

Ideal day out: love rambles that include good views and water that challenge but don't border on rock climbing and are not scary
