Having enjoyed a great adventure 2 week's before with my Daughter we were raring to get going again. I once again headed for the Ben lawers Car Park this time to do Meall Corranaich and Meall a'Choire Leith. I had identified a path the week before coming down from Lawers and after reading of the boggy parts on the suggested route i decided this was a route with better terrain for both of us. We headed up through the nature reserve up to the point of where the path splits going upwards up Beinn Ghlas and left the way we were headed. We headed along the bealach watching many people going up Ghlas as it was a glorious day. We got to the the crag in between the 2 and stopped to assess the best route up Corranaich. Just then 2 men and a dog started heading down what had to be a path and what we thought would again be an exciting rocky climb became a much easier and more sensible route. We stopped for a chat and exchanged photo's as always and headed up the rather steep ascent. It wasn't long before we reached the summit of Corranaich and i immediately recognised it from a picture i'd seen on here the night before from someone's report. Here we met a few people and had a chat and discussed the way to Choire Leith. After a much needed snack we set off towards the rocky part along the ridge and i at first thought this was it but a fellow walker we had just met was in sight walking up which i then knew was where we wanted to be going. We headed down the path and when we were to begin ascending again i was surprised that this was although not hard it was a little tougher on the legs that the previous hill. When we got to the top of Choire Leith we layed our stones and then just lay admiring the sheer amazing scenery all around with good views of Ben Lawers, Meall Gharb and a few more although it was so hot the haze meant we couldn't see much further into the distance much to the dissapointment of my daughter as i'd said we might get a look at Nevis if clear. We headed back down the same way we had came but this time traversed round the hill on what in truth was nothing more than a sheep trail this though added to the fun of the day and great care was taken. Once down from here we headed back down the bealach to the dam in the nature reserve where we had our customary dip in the water to ease the little aches and pain's. Although they say these are not the most dinguished of the Lawers range i have to say the views and surrounding's made for some cracking and iconic photo's which is always a bonus. I know from meeting people up here that it is possible to bag 6,7 or 8 munro's up here in one day but the beauty of the place and nearby Killin makes me glad i've split my journey's and have a few more to go back and bag. The Lawer's range is fantastic and i don't think i'll ever tire of coming back here!!!!
