Trail damaged

Route: Raven's Rock Gorge, near Rosehall

Date walked: 06/10/2015

Time taken: 1 hour

Distance: 1.5km

Walked up to these falls today which were quite pretty but we had a few problems on the way. We went up anticlockwise on the trail rather than the route shown on here and the first part had a proper path but near the top before the path turns and leads to the viewpoint for the falls there were a lot of fallen trees with full branches attached so it was quite difficult to get over these as the ground was extremely boggy underneath. After viewing the falls we started to continue along the circular path until we came to a section that had fallen away completely into the gorge so were unable to go any further. We then had to climb back over all the trees again to get back to the bottom of the trail. We are used to a bit of clambering over rocks etc but because of the mud it could cause problems for those not quite so able. There were also no signs saying that part of the route was not passable and had we gone clockwise we wouldn't have been able to see the falls at all that way. Hopefully they will be able to fix these issues soon as it is a lovely little walk.
