Ben Vorlich after lockdown.
Route: Ben Vorlich via Loch Sloy
Munros: Ben Vorlich (Loch Lomond)
Date walked: 24/04/2021
I can not believe that not one has written anything yet about Ben Vorlich and how wonderful was yesterday, adding how full was the car park. The people ended up parking in the side of the road.
Anyways, it was my second time climbing this one. First time, awful weather ways. Nice at the base level, started with the fog half way throw and some rain..well...I thought well.still visible the paths and rain was coming and going. It was not so bad.
Once reach to the “Summit” the one I thought it was , I decided to come back as soon as possible in case the rain become really heavily.
I must say that I was very lucky. As soon to reach to the main road, started really pouring heavily Anyways, I didn’t enjoy any view and I ended up in the wrong summit and disappointed
My second intent..oh my god! Amazing weather, amazing views and amazing people. Helping this useless woman coming down from the steeper area...thanks guys if you read this
What can I say about this climbing? Just follow the path
..steeper, up up up....come on!
Almost there...is pleasant, a bit windy, sunny..nice stop half way for a little munch and refill your electrolytes
Reach to the first “summit”...I will say most of the hill Walkers didn’t know? that the real top was just 200mts ahead and when I reached to the main one it was just only a couple and their wee dog ..all for myself..yay!!
The windy was so cold that I did need to put my gloves on ...Jesus Christ..was cold but the views
My way down was not so bad, some group of youngest did have to help some of the females less adventurous coming down some rocky steeper area
My hip and my knees started to be notice and I did make the way down I little more slower ...hmmm... Nice chat with a woman walking in her own as well as myself ...
I think you are never on your own in a hill, most of the times anyways : always nice people around, even it is just a simple Hello! And helping you if you need it
I think my worst part was the half hour walk from the base to the car park
