Knock of Braemoray & Carn na Loine

Date walked: 08/08/2018

Time taken: 3.5 hours

Found the lay by on the A940 just south of the hill, now has a green wheely bin in it. From there picked quite a distinct and pleasant path running virtually all the way to the summit ridge....from the lay by to the summit....17 minutes.

Bit careless coming down, lost track of the large rock and posts I,d mentally noted on the way up and ended up wading through waist length and hit the road far too far north about 1/2 mile from where I,d left the car. As a consequence at least 20 minutes plus descending.....worth sticking to the ascent path if you can. A little damp on the summit so views not great but a fine little hill all the same!

On to the Knock starting point for Carn na Loine, easy to find and plenty of room for considerate parking. Ascent track much less steep than I had expected. Leave this as it heads east and then it's a 20 minute flog across deep heather to a misty summit (for me). Sun came out for the return and I,d dried out by the time I reached the car.Another 2 in the bag!
