Great walk, albeit rather boggy
Route: Clyde Walkway 4: Maudslie Bridge to New Lanark
Date walked: 16/08/2019
Time taken: 5.44 hours
Distance: 17.54km
Ascent: 108m
Walked this route the other way around: New Lanark to Mauldslie. It's a very nice hike, although the path is not too well defined in places, and sometimes quite boggy and slippery.
The plan was to walk this part of the route and then cross the Clyde at Mauldslie Bridge and take the bus at Rosebank. As it turned out, the bridge was closed to both vehicle and foot traffic (will be until July 2020). This was signposted along the route, but at a very inconvenient point (quite a ways past the bridge at Crossford). As a result, we were forced to continue on to Garrion Bridge, adding an unexpected 4K to the walk.
